What you become part of:

Wakefield Distribution Centre is a 24/7 operation, our Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) warehouse holds 30,000 pallets, alongside a racked and block-stacked conventional warehouse of 12,000 pallets. The combined typical annual throughput is over three million pallets. Every 24 hours we expect to receive around 3,000 pallets from the on-site manufacturing operation, directly into the ASRS, as well as handling around 300-360 HGV vehicle movements. Inbound vehicles arrive from our other factory sites, with palletised goods. We assemble orders of full pallets for despatch to our customers and other websites across our network. Most customers order bulk pallets, which are assembled from the ASRS and rear-loaded onto third party haulage vehicles. We also carry out a sizeable case-picking operation within the adjacent conventional warehouse.

What to expect:

Working on a shift based flexible 24/7 days and night’s pattern, we are seeking FLT Drivers to add depth to our operational teams. These roles are critical to the success of our operation and demand high levels of productivity whilst maintaining world class safety levels and communication; your key responsibilities will include:

  • Achieving high standards of work, demonstrated by your own personal standards and adherence to good warehouse practice. Four key tasks within role:
    • Remove new production inventory from the ‘palletised” within the conventional warehouse and store the pallets in either the conventional warehouse or place onto ‘infeeds’ to the automated warehouse.
    • Unload vehicles delivering full goods into our warehouses.
    • Load outbound vehicles to despatch to customers and other CCEP sites.
    • Move stock between the two warehouses as required.

Skills & Essentials:

  • You will have a flexible approach to work with the capability of working 12hr Day and Night Shifts which will include differing shift patterns dependant on volume.
  • Maintain good housekeeping by keeping work area clear, visible, safe and tidy.
  • You will be able to demonstrate good communication skills, teamwork, the ability to get things done quickly and efficiently and have a strong drive for results.
  • Fully focused on providing world class customer service, with a natural desire to generate and drive improvement ideas and challenge the status quo.
  • SAP EWM experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Safety first approach to all tasks undertaken within your work environment and focus on ensuring FLT equipment is safe to use and report any defects promptly.
  • You will have a flexible approach to work with the capability of working 12hr Day and Night Shifts which will include differing shift patterns dependant on volume.
